Workshop Description
The USU Restoration Consortium has partnered with the NRCS West National Technology Support Center and the Bureau of Land Management's Aquatic Resources Program to develop a standardized training series for Low-Tech Process-Based Restoration (LTPBR).
This course is part of CEWA 5624 (Implementation of LTPBR) for NRCS & BLM employees to satisfy LTPBR Level 2 requirements.
For students who have not completed Level 1 & 2 trainings, Day 1 will introduce LTPBR, while Day 2 will feature hands-on construction of LTPBR structures near Pinedale.
Agenda
Day 1 — Classroom Instruction (August 7)
- 1:00–5:00 PM: Introduction to LTPBR (for participants not enrolled in Level 2)
- 6:30 PM: Dinner social at Pitchfork Fondue, followed by rancher Jay Wilde's story about bringing back beaver to his ranch

A hotel block is reserved at the Best Western Pinedale Inn for $169/night (August 7–9).

Field Gear
This is a hands-on workshop. Be prepared to:
- Hike and work in streams (wet-wade or boots recommended)
- Wear closed-toe shoes and construction-appropriate clothing
- Bring personal outdoor layers, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and a dry change of clothes
We will provide basic personal protective equipment (gloves, hard hats, eye/ear protection).
If you have allergies or medical conditions, please notify your instructor in advance.
Meals & Snacks
- Day 1: Dinner provided
- Day 2: Bag lunches, snacks, and beverages provided (no breakfast). Bring a refillable water bottle.
